Maya built a palace of magnificient elegance for Yudhishtira. It was so
beautiful that even the gods became a bit envious.Pretty flowers carved
on stones, why even the bees mistook them for real ones and would buzz
over them.
The stones brought back from Kailash were so unique that they looked
transparent when placed on the floors.Wonderful water fountains, birds
of rare species, and flowers that blossoms all year round were some of
the natural beautiful touches that Maya constructed this palace with.
On an appointed day,the Pandavas officially entered into the palace.
They invited friends and family and also Kings from far to come and
see the artistic creation of a genius like Maya.Yudhishtira named the
palace Mayasabha in tribute to its creator Maya.
Maya was so grateful that Arjuna had spared his life in the forest
that he took the liberty of bringing a special gift for him.He brought
a rare conch named Devadatta and presented it to Arjuna who was very
pleased.
Krishna spent some time at the palace with his wives and enjoyed the
company of Yudhishtira and others. Then it was time for him to return
to Dwarka.Seeking the permission of Yudhishtira to leave, the Pandavas
were very reluctant to see their close friend go.
They accompanied him to the border of the city with Yudhishtira driving
His chariot.Bhima and Arjuna held the unbrella over Krishna's,
Satyabhama's and Rukmini's heads.Nakula and Sahadeva were fanning
them. This was the sort of love and admiration they had for their
friend Krishna. They then bade Krishna and his wives farewell and
returned to the palace.
Time passed along quite happily in the palace and Satyabhama gave
birth to a son Abhimanyu.Draupadi also gave birth to five sons, one son
for each Pandava. To Yudhishtira was born Prativirdhya,to Bhima was
born Sutasama,to Arjuna was born Shrutakarman,to Nakula was born
Satanika and Sahadeva got a son whose name was Shrutasena.
The birth of these little children made Kunti very happy because she
now believed that her sons were now settled with a new life and that
their troubles were all behind them.
