The great sage Narada muni paid a visit to Indraprastha one day.Having been duly welcomed by Yudhishtira,he told him that he heard the news of the palace Maya built and he could not resist seeing it for himself.

Narada was given the grand tour and being very pleased with him Yudhishtira looked after all his needs. Then when Narada was comfortably seated he started to tell Yudhishtira about his various travels.

He told Yudhishtira that his ancestors including Pandu, did not quite attain the best in the heavenly regions. He advised him that their obtaining the best in those regions were possible only if Yudhishtira performed the Rajasuya yagna.

Yudhishtira thought about it for sometime and then consulted with his mother and brothers.Still he was unsure as to what he should do so,he sent for his close friend Krishna.

When Krishna arrived Yudhishtira told him of his intention to perform the Rajasuya sacrifice and asked His opinion.Krishna said that in order for a King to perform Rajasuya,he must first conquer all other kings or at least have their support.

Krishna was skeptical about King Jarasandha because he was a powerful leader with a powerful army and was beaten only once in battle by Karna. Then there was Sishupal who was also a very powerful king and the chance of Duryodhana and his team opposing them was also a possiblity.

Krishna's stratagy was that He,Bhima and Arjuna would go to Magadha and try overpower Jarasandha. When the other kings hear of it they most likely will not try to create any problems for them.
