The revered sage Vyasa Ji was born at the end of the Dwarapar yug.He was born of the union between the Rishi Parasara and Satyawati.
At a very young age,Vyasa revealed to his parents his purpose in life.His mother requested of him that whatever his mission or purpose,he should appear before her whenever she wished it to be so.
Vyasa Ji was initiated by the sage Vasudeva.He studied the Shastras under the guidance of Sanata Kumara and his three brothers.He arranged the Vedas in a simplified manner and wrote many texts so that people of lesser understanding would have access to some form of higher knowledge. He wrote the eighteen Puranas and the Mahabarata and also the Brahma Sutras.
